Outside the tenet proposed above, users must agree to six other beliefs before they agree to use ChurchQuest’s services. According to the site, ChurchQuest reserves the right to make a final determination of eligibility, both prior to providing service, and while service is in effect. One example includes the denial of service to a Christian denomination that have taken positions of “sinful behavior which are contrary to scripture. Such denominations cannot be in agreement with the first point of our statement of faith, and thus may be denied service.”

Features

ChurchQuest provides basic services for their customers, including domain lookup and registration and domain transfers. They also provide capacity for streaming media and eCommerce. For web site owners who need professional newsletter and mailing list management, they offer SendStudio, a newsletter email script that runs directly from your Web browser to complete emailing tasks. This latter features is charged separately.

Although Churchquest provides the Fantastico script application, they aren’t forthcoming with the scripts they supply through this program. Potential customers might want to contact the host before making a decision to purchase hosting space to learn which scripts are available for download.

Reliability & Reputation

All hosting is provided on high-performance RedHat Enterprise Linux servers, utilizing the cPanel control panel which gives you unprecedented control and flexibility over your site. They provide multiple gigabyte ethernet connections to Tier 1 backbone providers, claiming that their data centers offer “incredible bandwidth and performance.” Although this company provides a server status page, they state that the table with this information shows the status of their Linux web servers only. Windows web and streaming servers are not shown. When we visited the status page, a statement within the table showed that none of the servers were monitored.

ChurchQuest provides access to three Web hosting plans, from a free services for churches, ministries, schools and other organizations who are just starting their online presence and have limited needs to a dedicated IP for e-commerce or shopping sites, or sites needing secure https service with an SSL certificate. All plans come with a 30-day 100% money back guarantee period when a full refund will be issued, minus domain registration fees if applicable. Otherwise, provided service was not in the final month of it’s billing cycle, a pro-rated refund will be issued.

Support

ChurchQuest provides a knowledge base and an eYicket system for attention to problems. There was no other information as to when this service was available, and no testimonials to confirm the validity of service.
