The site seems to reflect a number of quality features that make a Web host attractive to clients, including an uptime guarantee, great support, attractive reseller and affiliate programs and more. HostNine originally offered budget shared hosting, a reseller plan, and dedicated servers. The simple hosting plan includes a free site builder and a limited amount of storage space and bandwidth. The reseller plan is more generous and includes free billing software. The dedicated servers are Intel Celeron 2.8GHz with a large amount of storage and bandwidth for business expansion. New hosting plans were announced in January 2008, and these offerings include a huge expansion on the basic and reseller hosting options to include upgrades that are generous without breaking the bank. These offers currently are not shown on the home page, but are advertised in the site’s blog.

As with any new company, customers may expect to roll with changes that occur quickly over the next few years. Although some changes, like the expansion noted above, are advantageous to new customers, other changes may require some patience from customers as plans are implemented slowly to ensure little if any downtime. That said, this company seems to be expanding rapidly with few if any problems.

HostNine uses only Dell servers, and their current config features dual core dual Opteron 2.4 GHz processors with 4 GB of RAM. Their Fastservers-operated data centers are located in Cedar Falls, Iowa, San Jose and Chicago, where they keep your data safe through on-site physical security, redundant switches, routers, power systems, fire suppression systems and air conditioning systems. They also provide 24/7 monitoring, multiple Tier 1 bandwidth providers, an Overlay Network that delivers data to Web site visitors using the fastest and least congested path at any given point of time.

HostNine also keeps a supply of hard drives, network cards, processors, motherboards and every other piece of equipment that has even a remote chance of failure on hand to replace failed equipment if necessary. Finally, they use a multiple-SCSI backup cluster system for data storage and recovery.

Prices at HostNine range from truly bargain basement prices to reasonable costs for a dedicated server. If you are not completely satisfied with their hosting services, you may cancel at any time within the first 30 days and request to receive a full refund
